Introduction
If these words are being read by someone other than me, and the poor suckers that I have talked into reading them, then that is a positive sign. On the evening of November 4, 2008 I was at home anxiously awaiting the results of the Presidential Election. I had gone to the polling place for my precinct that morning and had cast my ballot. I was excited to be taking part in the electoral process in our country. I had a feeling all day long, though, that I would not be happy with the outcome of the election. In fact, I had that feeling for a couple of weeks leading up to the election. Well, the results came in, and I was unhappy. I quickly headed on over to my facebook page, and changed my profile picture to a cute little image equating Barack Obama with Chairman Mao. I also updated my status, making mention of Chairman Maobama, socialism, and black panthers. That night, and the next day, and the day after I was constantly receiving input, both positive and negative about the things that I had put. I enjoyed the positve comments and encouragement that I received from many of my conservative friends, but I was also somewhat troubled by the negative comments, and criticism that I was receiving. To be honest, the negative comments weren't unexpected, but they did cause me to think a little. Those people that made those comments were the inspiration for this page.
Purpose
The purpose, therefore, of this site is to take an in depth look into the transition that the United States of America has been taking away from the free market capitalistic socity that it was towards socialism. This site is not intended to be a place where politics is mindlessly argued, but a place where we can look at history, economic theory, and politics using reason, and intellect. We will look at the beginning of the transition up until now, and discuss the role that the Obama Administration could have in this transition.
