One of my hobbies is technical theater. It is something that I have done for a long time and I really enjoy it. I got started when I was young. My sister was a dancer and would dance in two ballets every year. The ballet company that she danced with was a community ballet company and relied heavily on volunteers. So, my mom volunteered me. For several years I would work on their productions doing various jobs that ranged from props, to working in the fly gallery, to helping hang lighting instruments. I soon came to love that type of work and started helping with other productions. As I got older I was trusted with more and more important jobs. Eventually I got to do the job I had always been wanting to do. Operate the lighting console. After I returned from my mission I went to work full time at the Bartlesville Community Center until I came to school at BYU Idaho. I still like to help out with shows when I go home. If you follow the link below you will be taken to a photo gallery where I have pictures of the Bartlesville Community Center, and pictures from the 2008 production of The Nutcracker, which I was the assistant lighting designer for.
